On Ramp is a special program designed for those who want to start training in CrossFit, but have no CrossFit experience. It is also available to individuals who are familiar with CrossFit, but have been out of the game for a while and need a refresher course. At CrossFit Menomonee Falls, we require that all members interested in joining our gym, complete a two week training session. These are private group classes led by a nationally certified CrossFit trainer and professional CrossFit Games athlete.
During On Ramp, you will learn the 9 foundational movements of CrossFit:
- air squat
- front squat
- overhead squat
- sumo-deadlift high pull
- shoulder press
- push press
- push jerk
- medicine ball clean
You will also learn other auxillary movements and exercises that we do in daily work outs, so you are prepared to jump into regular classes after On Ramp. We will teach you the proper ranges of motion for all movements to ensure maximum benefit of each movement and minimizing the risk for injury. We also teach the scales and progressions of each movement that meet your abilities, so you can increase your fitness levels.
For the month of August, we will have On Ramp classes the first two weeks of the month only on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. The first 2 weeks of the month, classes will be at 6pm only. Classes are one hour long where we will take you through an active and dynamic warm up, teach you specific movements each day where you will perform them yourselves, and put you through a specially designed work out that will test you mentally and physically. Even though this is a "class", don't bring a pencil, bring a dry t-shirt, a water bottle, and a positive attitude.
